Oh hi! Unconventional Ink, my beloved yet beleaguered marketing company turns 8 years old in November, and it's time to let it go ... with a burial at sea. Even if your LLC is dead, your bands should be live, don't you think? Ticket sales benefit the venue and the musicians, whom I love (and you will too, promise). Featuring Alana RolfeWire Faces & kill your darlings! Thanks for 8 amazing years.

3 hearts to love you, 8 arms to hug you. Join Unconventional Ink for a night of live music in the deep end.

“Octopuses have hundreds of suckers, each one equipped with its own ganglion with thousands of neurons. These ‘mini-brains’ are interconnected, making for a widely distributed nervous system. That is why a severed octopus arm may crawl on its own and even pick up food.” - Frans de Waal, Dutch primatologist

“I was once bitten by an octopus at the beach and got terribly ill.” - Ted Cruz, U.S. Senator

Kill Your Darlings - "It is a time of dread." These words mark the beginning of the 1988 movie Willow. They also mark the beginning of the band Kill Your Darlings. In the fall of 2016, Brett Schreiber and Jayme DeLoss found these words perfectly described their experience of life in America. At the close of a year already scarred by the untimely deaths of friends and family, they were shocked when the unthinkable happened. A group of delusional demagogues took control of the U.S. government, and the world's largest nuclear arsenal was poised to rest in the (tiny) hands of an actual fascist sociopath. If there was a silver lining to the dystopian nightmare, Schreiber and DeLoss knew it was this: The world was ripe for industrial music to make a comeback.

Alana Rolfe - When other kids dreamed of being an astronaut or fireman, Alana Rolfe told her second grade teacher, "I want to be a rockstar". These days she says she'd rather be a starfish (a reference to sleeping diagonally in a big bed) but continues to sing and play regardless of the draw of the cold side of the pillow. Alana's voice has been described as "sultry" and "magical", both potentially references made only to flatter but it can be agreed that it's at least interesting. And it's a voice that is rarely heard solo (up until recently you could only see Alana play in Fort Collins' acts Stella Luce, and previously Fierce Bad Rabbit), but it stands confidently alone, just like the cheese.

Wire Faces - Wire Faces is an experimental rock quartet from Colorado. Often characterized as "post-punk," their afrobeat-inspired, experimental rock 'n' roll seethes with primal energy, chaos and melodic finesse.
